In a letter sent to UE locals at the beginning of the month, UE’s national officers encouraged all UE locals to mobilize for the June 18 Moral March on Washington to demand that elected officials meet the needs of the working class.
The march will be led by Rev. Dr. William Barber II, a longtime ally who has spoken at UE conventions and supported the work of UE locals.
“This march will help shape the political narrative as we approach the fall elections,” the officers write. “We encourage all UE locals that can get members to Washington D.C. to do so.”
The Moral March on Washington will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Buses will be departing for Washington D.C. from around the country. The National Union will assist UE locals with the cost of transportation for members interested in participating. More information will be sent to locals soon.
