Union Station
Arriving in New Haven by train? Take a taxi or, on weekdays, catch the Union Station Shuttle.

The 89 - Union Station Shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 6:20 am to 10:05 pm Monday thru Friday. Use stop #5 ("the Green"), about a half-block from the hotel.
From Bradley International Airport
Hartford's Bradley International Airport (BDL) is located about 50 miles north of New Haven, Trips to the UE convention hotel take about an hour.

- Cost - $44/one way and $88/round-trip (as of 6/12/09). Check their website or call for possible discounts (for example, early this summer, a 50% round-trip discount was available for for up to three additional adults). A 5% discount is applied to reservations made online.
- Reservations recommended. They will ask for your travel itinerary so times can be coordinated.
- Pick up/Drop Off: Connecticut Limo has two drop off/pick up areas in New Haven, although they will take you to the Hotel for an additional charge. They will not pick you up at the Hotel for a return.
Be sure to tell them you wish to be dropped off or picked up at the Phelps Gate on College Ave. This is a drop off area for Yale University, less than two blocks from the hotel. The Omni is located on Temple Street, one block over (across the Historic New Haven Green) and to the south and west. Short walk to the hotel. To Downtown Hartford from the Airport
for Bus and Train travel (updated 9/6/09)

- Both bus and train service are available from Hartford to New Haven. Both depart from the Union Station Transportation Center in downtown Hartford.
- From the airport to downtown Hartford: 30X or 30N (30 Bradley Flier) - The city bus to and from Bradley Airport is the 30X or 30N (Ct Transit, www.cttransit.com). The airport bus stop is located outside the baggage areas (outer roadways; Terminals A & B). Take the bus to or from downtown Hartford.
- The airport bus does not stop at Union Station, but it will get you within two or four blocks of the train station as follows:
- Four blocks; catch another bus: If a two block walk is not possible for you, get off the bus at Wadsworth Atheneum on Main Street. Walk one-half block in the same direction the bus was traveling on Main Street to the Travelers Building where frequent bus service to and from the train station is available on bus routes 60, 62, 64, 66, 72, 74 and 76.
- Two blocks; walk: If you are able to walk for two blocks, get off the bus at the Old State House stop on Main Street. Walk two blocks on Asylum Avenue to Union Station (look for the "Burger King" when you get off the bus. "Burger King" is on Asylum Avenue).
- Cost - $1.25 - exact change required (6/12/09). Check the CT Transit website for current schedules (select "30 Bradley Flier").

UE
- The UE National Office has made arrangements for limited van service between Bradley International airport and the Omni on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12.
If your flight is arriving no later than 8:30 pm send an email with your name, your cell phone number and flight information (airline, flight number and arrival time) to UE General Secretary-Treasurer Bruce Klipple (bklipple@ranknfile-ue.org) or call the UE National Office at 412-471-8919 with your information. Space is very limited and is being filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Your cell phone number is required.
- Return (Thursday): UE will provide school bus transportation from the hotel to Bradley International airport Thursday morning at the conclusion of the convention. Busses are tentatively scheduled to begin loading at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Please note: this information is subject to change; we'll update you during the convention.
