UE Action Week - Freedom to Organize Campaign
UE FREEDOM TO ORGANIZE CAMPAIGN
UE Action Week
We did a lot ... there's more to be done!
Winning Back the Right to Organize

UE Action Week concluded April 4th – but our campaign continues to build.
Locals across the country mobilized during the last week of March to press for passage of The Employee Free Choice Act (S 560; HR 1409).
UE members distributed tens of thousands of postcards, met with members of Congress, wore stickers — and made it clear the right to organize must be restored! And we're still going strong.
We are still collecting messages of support – join us by sending us a message [1]! It only takes a moment ... and we'll make sure your message is delivered to Congress
We are up against millions upon millions of dollars being spent by big business to defeat the bill and keep American workers out of unions. The very best thing we can do, as working people, is to call, write or visit the members of Congress in our own areas.
Business lobbyists may have tons of money behind them, but ultimately they are no match for unpaid-for and honest voices. But if we don't speak up, honest voices won't be heard. If you've never taken action before, this is the time to do it.
Action Week Postcards
UE locals are asked to gather and return the postcards to the UE Washington Office by April 15th.
Online Postcards
Not enough postcards? Want to involve friends, family, those relatives you haven't talked to in years, folks who live out of state? No problem!
We've got an online version [1] of the postcard campaign.
Online messages will be added to the postcards we deliver. Don't Wait [1]!

A special UE delegation will personally deliver the cards to the offices of your senators in Washington and press the case for the Employee Free Choice Act.
- Promote our campaign! Download, post and circulate "A Recovery for Workers — Not Just Bankers" (pdf; in English [2] and Spanish [3]. Check out our online version [4] of this flier, too.
Keep it Going!
We encourage UE local officers and members to phone your representatives and senators. You can reach any member of Congress by calling the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121. Consider organizing a “Call-In Day” at work, with members using cell phones to call their senators during breaks or lunch.
Finally, you can also use the "Be Heard" utility in the right hand column of this page to send a message right now to your Senators and Representative. Whatever you do, make your voice heard! The quality of our jobs, livelihoods and the life we lead depend very much on winning this battle.
