Membership Coordinator
Location:
Pittsburgh, PA
Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of UE membership enforcement policies and procedures
- Act as a resource for UE locals who need assistance in developing, setting up, and implementing membership enforcement policies
- Work with field staff to implement membership enforcement policies at bargaining units where the National Union needs to provide direct assistance
- Assist Data and Technology Coordinator in refining systems for membership enforcement
- Work with Communications Director, Data and Technology Coordinator, and field staff to develop ways to systematically welcome new members into the union / invite new bargaining-unit members to join the union
- Manage union security compliance
- Other tasks supporting membership development as needed and assigned
Required qualifications and experience:
- Understanding of rank-and-file unionism
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Experience with and understanding of relational databases such as Broadstripes and Airtable (preferred), similar systems such as Knack, advanced use of Excel and/or Google Sheets, or SQL
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision; must be well organized and self-motivated
- Capacity to establish and cultivate relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
