BUDGET PREFERENCE POLL

the America
you want!

THE BUDGET CHOICES CONGRESS MAKES THIS SUMMER WILL SHAPE THE REST OF OUR LIVES.
Do we want a nation and a society that:
- Cuts taxes for the wealthiest families and corporations?
- Bails out Wall Street and lets Main Street suffer?
- Attacks Medicaid, Medicare, and social programs?
- Continues high levels of war spending?

What's this all about?
The information on this page is being distributed by the New Priorities Network [5] which includes U.S. Labor Against the War [6] (which includes UE).
We believe the United States is at a turning point in which the gains made by working people during the past century could be completely destroyed.
So, the New Priorities Network has designed a poll to give everyone an opportunity to have their voice heard in this budget debate.
Take a minute to compare the three plans. Then, take the poll to tell Congress what you think the nation’s priorities should be! Cast your vote for the plan that best represents your values and vision for our nation in 2012 — and beyond!
The results of the poll will be sent to every member of Congress to the media .... and to you, if you provide your email address (optional) as you take the poll.
What Else Can I Do?
Ask Organizations to Join.

Keep going!
Use your imagination to come up with additional ideas. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper (download sample, at right). Call a legislator from your cell phone during a break at work, then pass the phone to other members to tell the politician what they think. Organize a group of UE members to pass out leaflets at a workplace where workers don&rsqo;t have a union. Brainstorm with co workers for additional ways to protest against the political attacks on unions.
